Your inner voices, those persistent whispers that linger deep within, have woven a web that keeps you entangled in the grips of anxiety and depression. Their words echo in your mind, leaving you feeling trapped and constantly on edge.
They feed you lies, convincing you that acceptance is an impossible dream, a mere flicker of hope in a world that seems determined to reject you.
Parts of your being have grown convinced that no one can truly understand your struggle, leading you to believe that change is an unattainable concept. Amidst this internal battle, parts of you want to boldly express your authentic self to the world, to be seen and validated in your entirety. Yet, this desire is tinted with an overwhelming sense of risk, as the very act of stepping out into the open leaves you vulnerable to the judgment and rejection you've experienced in the past. The weight of misunderstandings and the trauma you've endured throughout the years feels unbearable. And yet, despite the desperation that gnaws at your soul, you persist in hiding your true self, contorting and reshaping to fit the molds of societal norms.
But ask yourself, does "fitting in" in such a disingenuous manner truly align with your authentic being?
Deep within, you know that your brain is a tangled mess, struggling to reconcile your queer identity with the world around you. Yet, within the depths of your being, there are parts of you that want to untangle this chaos, to bravely pave the path for your true Self to emerge, unburdened and free.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ken Lopez (they/them), a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and clinical specialist at Spilove Psychotherapy. I specialize in providing support and guidance to individuals within the queer and trans community who find themselves trapped in the throes of pain and turmoil. Together, we work towards overcoming the internalized transphobia and homophobia that weighs heavily upon your spirit. We will also uncover the potential for a life on the other side of the anxiety and depression that currently envelops you.
As a fellow member of the queer community, I understand the importance of finding someone who truly relates to your experiences.
Having walked a similar path, I know just how crucial it is to uncover and discover your true identity, and I am dedicated to helping you along this journey.
Together, we can navigate the challenges and triumphs of being authentic while feeling safe in the world.
In my practice as a therapist, I am committed to holding an intersectional framework that acknowledges the diverse aspects of your identity. I recognize that race, socioeconomics, religion, gender, and sexuality all intersect and influence your lived experiences.
By exploring these identities within yourself, we can gain a deeper understanding of who you are and how you can express your true self outwardly.
To facilitate this process, I utilize experiential interventions such as role play, music, art, and dramatic acting. These techniques allow you to engage with your inner self and discover the most genuine version of yourself. We can also work on having important conversations with your family and loved ones, creating an environment that promotes mutual respect and sets boundaries that honor both you and them. Moreover, I will help you tap into your unique strengths to build a supportive community where you can freely express your true self. Finding deep and meaningful relationships is an essential part of feeling seen and understood, and I am here to guide you in creating those connections.
